Meet the Team
The firm’s founder and driving force, Michael has been involved with Estate Agency since 1986. Very much immersed in the day-to-day running of this growing business, Michael has huge experience in this market sector. He started his career as a fully qualified Broker in financial services for a large corporate, mainly involved in the mortgage market, then starting his own Brokerage and Estate Agency business in his mid thirties. Michael now concentrates on all aspects of Country Holmes and is on hand to deal personally with each and every client.
With close to 20 years of dedicated service to the company, Tom oversees the lettings and management department, as well as residential sales from our Marple Bridge office. Having grown up in Marple Bridge, Tom brings not only local knowledge but also a long-standing rapport with many of our clients, a large number of whom he has worked with for many years.
Tom is the key point of contact for all matters relating to the increasingly complex legislation in both sales and lettings. The majority of our landlords choose our fully managed service, and Tom plays a vital role in ensuring that both landlords and tenants are well-supported throughout the tenancy. His focus is always on smooth, efficient tenancies from beginning to end.
Outside of the office, Tom is kept on his toes by his energetic 5-year-old daughter and has been happily with his wife for nearly 20 years.
A lifelong Manchester United supporter, Tom also enjoys electronic music and relaxing with a well-earned pint!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in the equestrian world, keeping up with my energetic daughter, and making the most of family holidays.
Mataya joined Country Holmes in September 2024, after working within a local recruitment agency role. She brings a comprehensive knowledge of the local area, strong customer service, and years of sales experience. Mataya focuses on sales progression, as well as adhering to your requirements and ensures efficient communication between vendors and buyers, to ensure all parties are updated throughout the whole process. Mataya is keen to grow within the industry and is a valued member of the team. Away from the office, she enjoys planning her next holiday destination, spending time with friends and her huge family and loves a bit of retail therapy.
FUN FACT: Mataya actually bought her first home through Country Holmes back in 2022!!
Janice joined Country Holmes as a Sales negotiator in 2017. She has lived & worked in the Glossop area for 25 years & has a keen interest in property & loves interacting with people. She is always very focused on achieving the best possible price for our vendor’s properties. Whilst being super organized, friendly and professional, she has become a valuable team member.
A long-time resident of Mellor, Moira is a familiar and trusted face in the local community. She brings a wealth of experience to our Marple Bridge office, with a strong background in the property sector. Her deep local knowledge and dependable nature make her an invaluable part of the team, providing exceptional support and insight every day.
With over 25 years of experience in the property industry and 15 years dedicated to estate agency, I bring a wealth of knowledge, insight, and a personal touch to every client interaction. My passion lies in helping people navigate the property market with confidence and clarity.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active at the gym, spending time in nature, and making the most of travel and holidays to recharge and find inspiration.
My career in estate agency began in 2021 and throughout these years I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience within the industry. I pride myself in providing excellent customer service and bringing a caring approach, ensuring all clients feel listened to, understood and are kept in the know at every stage of their property journey.
Out of working hours, my passion remains in property and home interiors/crafts. Alongside spending quality time with loved ones, getting outdoors and keeping active.
